This estimate reflects the cost for one mass removal procedure only. Whiskey currently has three masses :( two confirmed mast cell tumors and one additional mass that has not been tested. Our veterinarian has advised that the third mass will be removed during surgery without additional testing, as it is highly likely to also be a mast cell tumor. This approach helps avoid unnecessary costs and delays.

This estimate does not include the required pre-anesthetic testing. Due to Whiskey’s age, the vet requires additional safety screening before surgery. Such as a recommended sample/aspiration of her spleen to check for any signs of spread. These tests are essential but will add to the total cost beyond the current estimate.

This situation is time-sensitive because there is growing concern that the cancer could spread to Whiskey’s spleen. If that happens, surgery may no longer be a viable option. At that point, Whiskey could be too weak to safely undergo the procedure, the success rate would drop significantly, and her overall prognosis and lifespan would be greatly reduced.

Right now, we still have a window where surgery can give her the best possible outcome. The current estimate for treatment is around $11,000, and we have raised $5,520 so far. Acting quickly is critical to give Whiskey the best chance at recovery and more time.
